We are now recruiting a Metallurgist who wants to be a key player in the journey of creating long-term societal value with focus on sustainable value creation. Is it you?
Our vision is to become the global metals and mining sector’s most respected and innovative CO₂-free company by leading the industry´s transformation from a linear to a circular economy. As a Metallurgist you will play a central role in the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies that supports the industry’s transformation from a linear to a circular economy. You will be part of our experienced Research & Development team but also work closely with other company functions, especially the Projects, Operations and Commercial team. As we are a green company with sustainability at our core, it is highly advantageous if you have an interest in and experience with environmental and sustainability issues.
You will be based in Stockholm and be part of our R&D team. In this role you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the company, external partners and the entire R&D team. The position involves travel to operational sites, customer locations and industry conferences, providing opportunities to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. You will report to Chief Technology Officer Linda Ahl.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise GreenIron’s complete process chain, including agglomeration, reduction, and post-processing stages
- Conduct in-depth analysis and present your findings to inform decision making and drive improvements
- Provide technical assistance to other departments, such as technical sales interface to customers and production, ensuring smooth operations and successful outcomes
- Engage in externally funded projects, working closely with project partners
- Promote and nurture a spirit of innovation within the team, contributing to the continuous evolution of our technology and methodologies
- Support our health- and safety work, which is strongly linked to our corporate culture
Background and experience
- A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Material science or Physical engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of experience from the metal- or mining industry, or from other heavy industries
- A team player who can share knowledge and experiences to collectively arrive at the best solution
- Strong Metallurgical knowledge and understanding with the ability to interpret customer specific requirements and specifications
- Fluent in English and Swedish, other languages is an advantage
You are naturally curios, collaborative, and analytical, with a humble attitude and a strong sense of commitment and drive. You excel at navigating complex situations, drawing insightful conclusions, and translating them into practical, actionable solutions. Your communication skills are adaptable, allowing you to effectively convey ideas and information across various contexts, whether interacting with internal teams or external stakeholders.
